Japan Amps Up Intervention Threat as Yen Hits Lowest Since 1990

Japan had its toughest warning yet for traders on its willingness to intervene in currency markets after the yen slid to its weakest level in about 34 years against the dollar.

 

The nation’s currency dipped to 151.97 versus the greenback on Wednesday in Tokyo — beyond the level at which policymakers stepped in during October 2022 — before comments from government officials on their readiness to act boosted the yen to its strongest level of the day.

 

“We are watching market moves with a high sense of urgency,” Finance Minister Shunichi Suzuki said. “We will take bold measures against excessive moves without ruling out any options.” Suzuki’s reference to bold action is generally interpreted to mean direct intervention in the currency market.

Conditions for a soaring JPY

JPY rises sharply should the following conditions be satisfied:

Condition #1
Presence of a Melody Formation.

Condition #2
In the background, the Melody Formation is protected by an active Mars (or by a bullish Saturn). Mars is preferable because Mars can erase any negative influence.

Condition #3
The Ecliptic plane joins the bullish features to greatly enhance JPY’s advance.

The Solar System is a huge Musical Instrument.
    Neptune = Musician
    Mercury = Singer
    Venus = Dancer.

A Melody Formation is made up of:
    [Neptune + Mercury] being made active.
    Or [Neptune + Venus] being made active.

For the coming intervention, we’ll divide out analysis into 2 parts.

PART A – All 3 bullish planets are energized

On the geocentric Saturn-centered Ephemeris, there are several bullish features (bullish for EUR & JPY, bearish for US Dollar) in early Apr 2024.

Bull One
In early Apr 2024, Mercury moves in backward motion very near the 45-degree in front of Saturn. This is [Mercury(R) Semi-square Saturn], a markedly positive aspect.

Bull Two
In early Apr 2024, Mars is a few degrees behind Saturn.
When Moon interacts with Saturn by Conjunction, the Moon interacts by Conjunction with bullish Mars also.

Bull Three
In early Apr 2024, Pluto is 42⁰ behind Saturn. It is close to 45⁰ (a Semi-square). Thus, when Moon interacts with Saturn by Semi-square, Moon makes a Conjunction with Pluto shortly thereafter.

These features link up all the 3 positive planets (Mars, Saturn & Pluto) of the Solar system. Its positive effects are further raised by Mercury (in backward motion). The combined bullish influence aroused by Moon transits is tremendous. The relevant Moon transits are as below:

The average speed of the Moon is 13⁰. The Moon moving forward 2⁰ takes about 3.7 hours. It means the Moon makes a Semi-square with the Ecliptic plane about 3.7 hours later. The aspect is:
